Karanniaby ~vantid

A coloured pencil badge for Karannia.

I’m pushing myself with coloured pencils, trying to work in lighting, contrast, warm/cool tones, and colour matching. This was a real challenge to make the fur look white as opposed to cream or grey. I used impressed lines for the whiskers but they were lost under the layers of pencil, so I went for ye olde gel. I became intimate friends with Ginger Root, Cream, and Eggshell, and had a lot of fun working in the very subtle light greens.

This scan isn’t too bad. A little grainy and some colour gradients are lost, but it could be much worse.

Prismacolors on 3x4 inch Stonehenge paper.
