Whirbirdby ~vantid

Traditional Art / Drawings / Animals

The Whirbird, clockwork hummingbird with gears, brass and nickel keyfeathers, a glass heart, and a touch of the Elsewhere.

Original is really large, I think 18x24 inches, and is all colored pencil. The background was smashed in using Prismacolor Art Stix, which are pastel shaped chunks of woodless colored pencil lead.

Aw man rockin' taco a DD!!! Thank you, thank you! This is one of, or maybe my most! favorite pieces I've ever created, so it makes me happy that it gets the exposure.

It is for just such occasions that the term "perfection" was devised. Everything in Whirbird by ~vantid from the individual strands of each feather to the jewel structures for the heart and eye to - and this is my favourite - the wing movement indicated so subtly in the background... nothing is left for doubt or second guessing.
